The Prosecutor’s Office investigates a mass circumcision in northern Morocco

Five minors have suffered serious complications after a mass circumcision event for disadvantaged families that took place in the town of Chauen, in northern Morocco.

The five affected minors have been transferred to the Mohamed VI University Hospital in Tangier to receive the necessary care after suffering significant injuries to their genitals, according to the Moroccan portal Hespress.

The case has been reported by the Karama Human Rights Association, which submitted a letter to the Prosecutor’s Office requesting an investigation into what happened.

According to the complaint, on September 20, more than 45 children were circumcised at the Mohamed V Hospital in Chefchaouen.
