The Prosecutor’s Office has asked the Supreme Court to open a criminal case against the far-right MEP Luis ‘Alvise’ Pérez for defaming Javier Alfonso Cendón, PSOE deputy for León and general secretary of the party in the province. To date, Alvise’s Telegram channel has more than 706,000 subscribers and for years it has been the main platform he uses to spread his messages, which usually include hoaxes, misinformation and for months now propaganda from his platform ‘Se He finished ‘La Fiesta’ in the European Parliament, in addition to asking constant contributions of money from his followers. One of his strategies over the last five years is to claim that he has confidential information on corruption cases with which he will manage, he continually claims, to bring the system to a “catharsis” although most of the time this evidence does not exist.
