If the pro-Russian authorities of the Lugansk region, annexed to Russia last week, assured yesterday that the whole province was under control of Moscow, this Wednesday they have recognized that the situation is “frightening“in the territory.

On Monday, Zelensky’s troops managed to cross the Lugansk administrative border and displace the front line about 35 kilometers, to the city of Kreminna. From there the battalions would have headed towards Svatove, a logistics hub that connects with the industrial cities of Lisichansk, Rubizhne and Severodonetsklocated a little further south.

“The situation in Svatove is alarming, but it is under control,” said Lugansk’s representative in Moscow, Rodion Miroshnik. Likewise, he has pointed out that the Russian artillery is hitting the places where the enemy is concentrated and that the military is strengthening their positionsaccording to the agency Eph.

This information contrasts with that offered by the Ukrainian governor of the province, Sergiy Haidai, who has assured on his Telegram channel that “the disengagement of Russian troops from the region had begun.”

Along the same lines, British intelligence has warned of a possible and imminent Ukrainian attack on the road that connects Svatove and Kreminna, which would increase the pressure on the Kremlin troops deployed in the east.

“They will be returned to Russia”

Despite the important Ukrainian advances and last weekend’s seizure of the Liman Bastionin the Donetsk region, the Russians are convinced that they will be able to recover the areas liberated by kyiv.

“We are going to liberate Krasni Limán (Russian name for the town of Limán) and the entire territory of the republic,” the interim leader of Donetsk assured on Wednesday, Denis Pushilinin statements collected by Europe Press.

Hours earlier, the Kremlin spokesman, Dimitri Peskov, assured that Russia would recover the territories “temporarily abandoned” in the newly annexed regions of eastern Ukraine: Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia.

“There is no contradiction here. They will always be with Russia, they will be returned,” he said, according to information from the news agency interface.
