The official Babajide Sanwo-Olu has won the local elections for the governorship of Lagos and revalidates the position at the head of the commercial center of Nigeria, the scene this Sunday of disputed local elections that had one of the main centers of attention in the region.
Sanwo-Olu, candidate of the Congress of All Progressives and a prominent ally of the country’s president, Bola Tinubu, has won in 18 constituencies scrutinized so far out of the 20 that make up the governorate, according to official data collected by the Premium Times newspaper.
The only defeat so far has taken place in the Amuwo Odofin constituency, where the Labor Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has won.
The candidate of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP), Aziz ‘Jandor’ Olajide Adediran, has not won in any constituency.
