The President of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, received this Tuesday in Seoul, the capital, the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, who is immersed in an official visit to the country as a representative of the Ukrainian Head of State and the who is also her husband, Volodimir Zelensky.

Thus, he has expressed his intention to invite the South Korean mandate and the first lady of the Asian country, Kim Keon Hee, to Ukrainian territory and has described the country as a “model of resistance and development.”

Zelenska has warned, however, of the “fatigue” that war entails and has called for “more radical” support for the fight against Russian aggression which, as she has stressed, affects “the future of the whole world”, according to an interview with Yonhap news agency.

Since the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February last year, Zelenska has spearheaded a campaign to shed light on the war and rally global support for kyiv.

“For Ukrainians, South Korea and its history are a model of resilience and development. So thank you for giving us a good example and inspiring us,” he said before qualifying the idea that South Korean aid goes beyond assistance. humanitarian law is a “wise decision”.

The first lady has highlighted the importance of the attention paid by the international community as the country deals with “regrettable acts of violence, particularly against children.”

In this sense, he stressed that, in the face of such adversities, international solidarity is of “great importance” for Ukraine. “I think the world should be more afraid than we are of losing this interest, because if the aggressor wins, the whole world loses,” she pointed out.

On the idea of reaching a ceasefire with Russia, Zelenska has indicated that Ukraine “will only be satisfied with a peace that is the result of our victory, and not with an abstract armistice.” “It is impossible to shake hands with the one who has just killed your relatives and neighbors. You cannot sit at the negotiating table with a murderer who does not regret it,” she has concluded.
