The President of Algeria, Abdelmayid Tebune, has confirmed that he will visit Moscow at the request of his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, next May.

In addition, Tebune believes that his country has the capacity to mediate in the war in Ukraine because it has “sufficient credibility”, as he stated in an interview with Qatari television Al Jazeera.

In relation to Morocco, the Algerian president has regretted that the situation between the two countries has reached a “point of no return”, has reminded Spain of its responsibility in Western Sahara for being a former colonial power and has branded it as “biased”. the Spanish position on the matter.

For Algeria, the most important question is the Palestinian one, which Tebune considers almost as an “internal question”.

The Algerian president has stressed that the energy agreement with Italy, which includes electricity, gas and hydrogen, is “historic” and they want to implement it in cooperation with Europe.

Regarding the recent tensions with France, Tebune has assured that relations are still not improving and that the Algerian ambassador will soon return to Paris.
