The party’s economic spokesman predicts that Sánchez will remain president even if there is no budget
September 21 () –
The PP’s economic spokesman, Juan Bravo, has announced that his party will once again vote against the deficit path and the budget stability objectives that the Government will present to the Congress of Deputies next Thursday, September 26.
Bravo has justified his rejection by saying that this path will be the same one that was presented in July and was rejected with the votes against from the PP, Vox and Junts. “If they present the same thing, the PP’s response would be the same,” said the ‘popular’ in statements to ‘Parlamento’, on Spanish National Radio, collected by Europa Press.
In addition, the PP leader has stressed the idea that the Government cannot seek the votes of the Popular Group when one of its investiture partners fails: “President Feijóo (Pedro Sánchez) already suggested that when his partners fail him, he should not come to the PP,” said Bravo.
Another argument that the MP uses against the path is that the autonomous regions have to make a greater effort to balance the accounts than the central government. Specifically, he says that the autonomous regions have to reduce their deficit from 0.9% to 0.1% (eight tenths less) while the central administration has to adjust from 2.7% to 2.4% (three tenths less). “The disproportion is evident,” adds Bravo.
THERE WILL BE BUDGETS IF ERC AND JUNTS WANT
Regarding the future processing of the Budgets and whether they will be ready in a timely manner, the PP deputy said that it will depend on ERC and Junts, which are the parties “that are making the decisions in this country.”
However, Juan Bravo has predicted that Pedro Sánchez will not call early elections if there is no Budget for next year. “Last year he was not even able to present the Budget and this year we do not know what will happen, but Sánchez is not considering calling elections at any time,” he said.
In this scenario, Juan Bravo has asserted that the Executive “does not care” about the lack of Budgets and investments or the fact that “600 million euros are lost in dependency policies.”
“They don’t care that certain policies cannot be advanced due to the lack of a budget. They don’t care. Sánchez is president, right? Yes, that’s enough, nothing else is needed,” he concluded.
