The PP seeks support to achieve the deflation of personal income tax, at least in its first three sections, and will defend this proposal this week in plenary session of the Congress of Deputies together with the discounts that may arouse the most interest in the usual partners of the Government, such as the reduction of VAT on basic foods, but also diapers or menstrual hygiene products.
These are proposals collected in a motion, to which Europa Press has had access, that the ‘popular’ have registered as a result of the urgent question addressed to the Vice President of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, in the control session from last Wednesday.
Its vote in the plenary session of Congress, scheduled for Thursday, October 6, will take place just one week after the coalition government has presented its own plan of fiscal measures, which includes a tax on assets of more than three million euros .
In its initiative, the PP once again includes the deflation of personal income tax –at least its first three sections, personal minimums and other deductions–, and the extension of the current VAT reduction applied to gas and electricity bills beyond December 31.
UPDATE THE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE BANKING
It also includes VAT rebates on basic products in the shopping cart. Specifically, it proposes to lower VAT to 4% on food whose purchase is taxed at 10%, such as meat, fish, oil, water, pasta, preserves or feminine hygiene products – this last reduction is already included in the plan of the Government– and the drop to 4% of the VAT applied to diapers.
Finally, the PP proposes to negotiate with the bank the modification of the code of good practices for mortgage debtors in order to update the vulnerability thresholds and adapt it to the current context of price crisis and rise in interest rates.
