The reform of the immigration law to systematize the reception of migrant minors by the autonomous communities reaches its first key moment next Tuesday: the vote in the Plenary Session of Congress that will initiate (or defeat) the parliamentary process. The Government does not have guaranteed support, so it is keeping contacts open with all groups, while Alberto Núñez Feijóo’s group is preparing amendments to the registered text, which implies that they see it as possible that it will be admitted for processing.
The talks between the Ministry of Youth and Children and the Ministry of Territorial Policy with the groups are not new. The Government has been preparing the reform of the law for weeks, and last weekend the PP sent the Executive a document drafted by its deputy secretary of Social Policy, Ana Alós, with its contributions to the law, which include guaranteeing that the expenses will depend on the central administration, not the autonomous ones.
