MediaTek has announced its new 5G platform T830 for fixed and portable routers. This platform promises an integrated system for the manufacturers of this type of device with which to achieve speeds above 7 Gbps through the 5G network.
Inside, the MediaTeK M80 modem is included, a model manufactured by TSMC at 4 nanometers and which is the company’s most capable model to integrate into all kinds of devices, from routers to smartphones. It is capable of reaching 7.67 Gbps downstream and up to 3.76 Gbps upstream, and is compatible with SA (Standalone) and NSA (Non-Standalone) modes of 5G technology.
The MediaTek T830 supports dual SIM and it also has three internal PCI Express ports, USB “3.2”, two 10 Gbps Ethernet interfaces, and support for phone lines. We even have a 3D accelerated GPU so you can have your own accelerated UI.
It is compatible with the combination of other networking chips, including the Filogic 680 and Filogic 380 with Wi-Fi 7 connectivity of triple and dual band respectively.
There are no specific dates, but it may not take too long to see the first network devices equipped with this new MediaTek T830 platform.
