The Palestinian Ministry of Health denounces two deaths during an Israeli operation in the West Bank

At least two young Palestinians have died and another has been injured during an Israeli Army operation carried out this Saturday in the Tulkarem refugee camp, in the north of the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in a statement.

The young men who died have been identified as Samer Salá al Shafei and Hamza Jamil Jreyoush, who were fatally wounded by shots to the neck, chest and abdomen, the former; in chest and abdomen the second.

The wounded Palestinian is hospitalized with gunshot wounds to the extremities and his prognosis is stable, according to the Ministry’s statement, picked up by the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.

Two other Palestinian youths, ages 20 and 23, have been detained during the operation, Palestinian security forces told the same agency.

The population of Tulkarm has decided to start a 24-hour general strike to protest the assault by the Israeli Army, which has not ruled on this incident.

According to estimates by the Palestinian agency, at least 110 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli operations since the beginning of the year, including 20 children and two women.
