The Ministry of Health of the Palestinian Authority has raised this Wednesday the number of deaths to 11, including four minors, from a military operation carried out by the Israeli Army in the West Bank city of Jenin.

Specifically, he detailed that a 15-year-old minor, identified as Wasim Ahid Yaradat, has been killed by bullets from the Israeli Army. He had previously reported two other fatalities, Sami Amin Ahmed al Qaisi, 18, and Mahmud Fares Qarini, 16.

Another minor, identified as Osama Muhamad Hayir, 16, has died during operations carried out by Israeli forces in Jenin. In total, more than 500 Palestinians have died in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since October 7, according to figures from the Palestinian authorities.

The Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, confirmed that its militiamen “participate in violent clashes with the occupation forces” in various parts of the city of Jenin, according to the newspaper ‘Filastin’, linked to the Islamic Resistance Movement ( Hamas).

The director of the Jenin Public Hospital, Uisam Bakr, previously indicated in statements to the WAFA news agency that the victims are civilians and detailed that they include a surgeon from the medical center identified as Asid Yabarin, as well as a professor and a student. who were in the area.

The Ministry of Health has published a statement condemning the death of Yabarin, 50, and accusing the Israeli Army of having shot him “when he was on his way to work at the Jenin Public Hospital.”

The Israeli Army confirmed in a brief message on its website that “security forces have begun an anti-terrorist operation in Jenin” and added that “there are injuries among the armed men detected in the area.”

Jenin has been the epicenter of Israel’s military operations for months, including one carried out in July 2023 that was the largest in the West Bank since the Second Intifada (2000-2005). Numerous armed groups are present in the city and its refugee camp, including Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the armed wing of Fatah.
