The OVA episode of the anime My Happy Marriage will stream worldwide on Netflix on November 22. The name of the OVA episode is “Watashi no Shiawase no Katachi” and it will premiere on “Good Couples Day” in Japan.
The crew of the television anime of the light novel series My Happy Marriage (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) by writer Akumi Agitogi and illustrator Tsukiho Tsukioka revealed last Friday that the original video animation (OVA), titled “Watashi no Shiawase no Katachi” (The Shape of My Happiness), will be simulcast around the world. on Netflix and other streaming services on November 22, on “Good Couples Day” in Japan.
The OVA episode was first released on Blu-ray alongside the eighth volume of the novel, which shipped on March 15.
The story continues from the end of the first season, where Kiyoka and Miyo attend a party. There, the protagonist puts into practice what she learned in her etiquette lessons with Hazuki and her fiancé tells her that he wants her to meet someone.
The second season of the anime is expected to premiere in January 2025. Like the first season and the OVA, this premiere will be available on Netflix and other streaming platforms.
The team returns for the second season

On the other hand, the new cast of the second season includes:
- Ryōtarō Okiayu as Tadakiyo Kudo
- Kikuko Inoue as Fuyu Kudo
- Yūya Uchida as Naoshi Usui
Masayuki Kojima, who was a writer and episode director on the first season, will join lead director Takehiro Kubota to direct the second season at Kinema Citrus.
On the other hand, in this new season, Ami Satō will have exclusive credit in supervising the scripts (a credit she shared with Momoka Toyoda and Takahito Ōnishi in the first season) and will also co-write the scripts with Misato Hashiba, Fūka Ishii and Momoka Toyoda.
Shōko Yasuda returns as character designer, while Kuniyuki Itō is responsible for sub-character design. Tsunetaka Ema will once again be the director of photographic composition. Additionally, Emi Katanosaka will return as art director and Osamu Masuyama as art advisor.
Other returning members include Anna Okamatsu as color artist, Yuushi Koshida as 3D CG director, and Evan Call as composer.
Ryō Hirata, Mikio and Takeshi Takakura will once again serve as prop designers, and Yoshihiro Sono and Yoshinori Hishinuma will provide art design, although Masaki Yoshizaki is no longer credited.
HALKA continues to be credited in designing kimonos. hydekick is the 2D artist.
Msayuki Kuroswa returns for editing and Omochi Mochigome is credited in PV production.
Takahiro Ikeda will supervise the music and MIRACLE BUS will produce it along with Kinema Citrus and Kadokawa. Kisuke Koizumi returns as sound director at Glovision and Kōji Morimoto will collaborate on the development of the script.
The first season of My Happy Marriage It features 12 episodes of the anime and premiered in July 2023. Netflix also began streaming the anime globally in July 2023.
my happy marriage is a light novel series written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka. It was initially published online through the Shōsetsuka ni Narō novel publishing website. The story was later acquired by Fujimi Shobō, who has released eight volumes since January 15, 2019 under his Fujimi L Bunko imprint.
A manga adaptation illustrated by Rito Kohsaka has been serialized on the service Gangan ONLINE from Square Enix since December 2018, with its chapters collected in five volumes tankōbon so far.
A live-action film adaptation of the novels was released in Japan in March 2023. The film ranked first in its opening weekend, selling 479,700 tickets and earning 654 million yen (about $4.97 million) in its first three days.
