Every May 9th is celebrated the Europe day. This date marks the anniversary of Robert Schuman’s landmark Declaration which set out his idea for a new form of political cooperation, which would make another major war between European nations inconceivable.
To celebrate this day, we will tell you about some of the opportunities that the European Union offers to young people:
- The Erasmus+ program. These are stays similar to Erasmus, but of short duration. They are exchanges that last between 5 and 21 days, and are aimed at young people between the ages of 13 and 30. There is also the opportunity to study a master’s degree, a doctorate or volunteer with the European Solidarity Corps.
In all these programs the European Union subsidy covers the costs of travel, accommodation and other expenses related to the activities necessary for the exchange.
- DiscoverEU. This program offers the opportunity to get free vouchers to travel by train throughout the European continent, an initiative that is also part of the Erasmus+ program. It is aimed at 18 year olds.
If you want to know more about these scholarships you have all the information on the website of the Commission and of the European Parliament.
