As said by Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, the reason for these figures is that they have already reached the majority of Xbox users who intended to subscribe to their service and although the pace of growth is slower, they have the hope that on PC there will be more and more players.
For this reason, Microsoft has insisted that Game Pass is a profitable service for Xbox and, in fact, represents approximately 15% of the total revenue of its video game division, with 3,000 million dollars in revenue.
However, Spencer stated in an interview with journalist Tom Warren that they will most likely not be able to continue with the same prices for their consoles and service, something that has been harshly criticized by Sony users.
“We have maintained the price of our console, the price of games and our subscription. I don’t think we can do that forever, I think at some point we’re going to have to raise some prices on certain things,” he commented.
