The rescue ship ‘Ocean Viking’ operated by the organization SOS Méditerranée has announced the rescue during a night operation of 34 migrants from a rubber boat adrift in the Mediterranean.
The crew of the rescue ship has reported this Saturday on its Twitter account that the first alert call was made by the Alarm Phone volunteer line, which warned of the danger these people were in due to poor sea conditions.
Meanwhile, the ‘Geo Barents’, a ship operated by Doctors Without Borders, has finally docked this morning in the safe port of the city of Taranto, in southern Italy, with almost 300 migrants on board rescued during the last days.
