It was late July when phone manufacturer Nothing sprang a surprise with the announcement of the Phone (2a) Plus, a very modest upgrade to the Phone (2a) that had only been on the market for four months. At the time, the company only provided the price for the British launch, where it sells for £399, but today it announced at IFA that it will be available in the rest of Europe with a RRP of 449 euros.

The Phone (2a) Plus is a slightly updated version of the Phone (2a), which remains on sale, characterized by using a chipset MediaTek with a overclocking specific to Nothing and a higher resolution front camera, with a brighter 50 MP sensor and capable of recording in 4K@30 resolution.

  • Display: 6.7-inch AMOLED, 1084 x 2412 resolution, 394 ppi, 1,300-bit peak brightness, 30 – 120 Hz and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
  • Processor: 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro 5G
  • Memory: 12GB LPDDR5
  • Storage: 256 GB
  • Rear cameras
    • Main: 50 megapixels and f/1.88
    • Ultrawide: 50 megapixels and f/2.2
  • Front camera: 50 MP and f/2.2
  • Battery: 5,000 mAh with 50W fast charging
  • Dimensions and weight: 161.7 mm x 8.5 mm x 76.3 mm and 190 grams
  • Others: Nothing OS 2.6 with Android 14, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, USB-C, in-screen fingerprint reader, IP54 protection, stereo speaker, face unlock and in-screen fingerprint sensor
  • Updates: Three years of OS and four years of security

Except for those details and its battery, which now charges at 50 W and has a capacity of 5,000 mAh, the rest of the specifications of the Phone (2a) Plus are basically the same as those of the mobile from which it descends, including a ROM (Nothing OS 2.6) very far aesthetically from Android 14, seeking the minimalism characteristic of the brand.

The Phone (2a) Plus is available for pre-sale and will be delivered starting September 10. Unlike other brands, Nothing is not offering launch discounts on the phone, but people who pre-order will be able to purchase headphones, a watch and certain accessories at discounted prices.
