The new president of Indonesia, former general Pradowo Subianto, presented this Monday his new cabinet, the largest in the country for almost 60 years, since it has almost fifty ministries with 100 ministers and deputy ministers.

Subianto announced the names on Sunday night after taking the oath and has named the ‘Roko and White Cabinet’, in reference to the colors of the Indonesian flag. Almost twenty of those appointed were ministers during the Administration of his predecessor, former president Joko Widodo, according to the ‘Jakarta Post’ newspaper.

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has congratulated Subianto on his inauguration and the Indonesian people for exercising their right to vote and making their voices heard. “This year, Indonesia and the United States celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations,” he stressed before indicating that both his vice president, Kamala Harris, and he hope to work together “to honor this milestone of continuing to strengthen” their strategic partnership and “demonstrate that the Democracies can face the challenges that matter most to the lives of their people.
