IRDM, the most premium division of GoodRam, has announced its new IRDM PRO Gen 5 SSDa model in M.2 format with NVMe that makes use of the standard PCI Express 5.0 to achieve sequential read speeds of up to 12,000 MB/s.
The writing speed of the same type remains at 11,000 MB/swhile random speeds reach 1,400,000 IOPS read and write. Has a controller Phison PS5026-E26 along with 3D TLC memory cells and PCIe 5.0 x4 connectivity.
It includes two layers of graphene in a honeycomb structure to improve dissipation and not increase the thickness of the SSD. In this way, it can be used in both laptops and compact systems, or directly placed on motherboards that already have their own heatsink. The company promises that this integrated heatsink achieves 20 times greater dissipation capacity than aluminum.
The IRDM PRO Gen 5 It arrives in capacities of 1TB, 2TB, and a larger 4TB model. The 2 and 4 TB models are the ones that achieve the highest speeds, while the 1 TB model remains at 11,500 MB/s and 9,000 MB/s of sequential reading and writing, and 1,300,000 IOPS of random reading, maintaining the 1,400 IOPS of writing.
In terms of durability, it ranges from 700 TB written for the 1 TB model to 3,000 TB written for the 4 TB model. The 2 TB variant offers 1,400 TB written durability. As for usage time, they promise 1,600,000 hours.
The 2 TB model costs 283 euros.
