ASUS has announced the launch in Spain of its renewed line of high-performance gaming laptops ASUS ROG Strix SCAR.
Available in two sizes, on the one hand, the ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 16 with a 16-inch panel and, on the other, the ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18 with an 18-inch screen, these laptops are equipped with one of the most powerful laptop processors in the world, the Intel Core i9-13980HX.
The graphic part is not far behind, giving the option of both a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 as the powerful GeForce RTX 4090 that we were already able to test on the company’s Zephyrus M16 that we recently reviewed. However, in these Strix SCARs, both GPUs work without limitation, reaching a 175W maximum with Boost. ASUS integrates a triple fan cooling system with liquid metal thermal paste.
They are accompanied by NVME 1.4 SSDs, in configurations of one or two in RAID0, and from 32 to 64 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM. your screens ROG Nebula Display in the case of the 18-inch model, and ROG Nebula HDR Display Mini LED in the 18-inch model, they offer a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels with 240 Hz, support for HDR and IPS-level technology.
Connectivity offers 2.5 GbE, USB 3.1 and WiFi 6E technology. Thunderbolt 4.0 is missing. All this is powered by a 90 Whrs battery with a 330 W charger.
As we said, both variants with their different sub-models are already available in the ASUS online store, although for now only in reserve. In the case of ROG Strix SCAR 16, part of the 3,699 euros for the variant with the RTX 4080, raising the model with the RTX 4090 to 3,999 euros. Both have a RAID 0 of two 1 TB SSDs and 32 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM.
If we look at the prices of ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18the model with RTX 4080, 1 TB and 32 GB of RAM stays in 3,399 euros, while the model with 64 GB of RAM, 2 TB and the RTX 4090 goes up to 4,399 euros.
