One of their latest products was the 8BitDo Arcade Stick, a classic-looking controller specifically designed to be used on PC and Nintendo Switch. The company has now gone a step further and has presented a new version, which is not only compatible with Xbox Seres X and Xbox Series S, but is also wireless and officially licensed.
A Wireless Arcade Stick for Xbox
The new 8BitDo Arcade Stick for Xbox is the direct evolution of the previous model. arrives with eight main buttons and two buttons for macros located on the right side. On the left side are the joystick, mode and audio switches, as well as the wireless, View, Menu, Share and Xbox buttons of the Microsoft controller.
One of the strengths of this device is its customization. The manufacturer ensures that users will be able to remap the buttons to their liking and even create custom profiles. In addition, they will be able to replace the stick or buttons with third-party alternatives made by Sanwa JLF or Sanwa JLW Seimitsu, among other manufacturers.
As we say, it is a wireless device, but not Bluetooth. That is, to connect to the console it will be necessary to resort to a 2.4GHz wireless receiver which should be connected to one of the console’s USB ports. In this case, the device will be powered by its integrated 1000 mAh battery that promises up to 30 hours of use.
The battery has an estimated charging time of 4 hours, although the Arcade Stick will also work via a wired connection (which can be a good alternative to improve latency). It should be noted that, in addition to the aforementioned consoles, it is also compatible with computers with Windows 10 onwards.
8Bitdo assures that it will launch its new Stick Arcade on June 30 and that it will be available “worldwide” in black and white colors. For now, it can only be reserved in the United States through Amazon. Its price? 120 dollars.
