The Netherlands prohibits conspiracy theorist David Icke from entering the country for posing a threat to public order

Nov. 4 () –

The authorities of the Netherlands announced this Friday the prohibition of entry into the country to the British ex-soccer player and conspiracy theorist David Icke, considering that the rally scheduled for Sunday in the capital, Amsterdam, could pose a threat to Dutch public order.

Icke is recognized for defending the reptilian theory, a conspiracy theory that suggests that the planet is governed by reptiles that change shape, although it is estimated that these postulates could have an anti-Semitic character.

The Dutch Government has adopted this decision due to the “concern” that the future Icke conference had aroused and after a series of consultations with the Police and anti-terrorist units, reports the RTL Nieuws television network.

Icke’s rally in Amsterdam was to be held as part of a demonstration organized by the Samen voor Nederland, an anti-government group that has called a rally to protest “the European dictatorship.”

This call has the support of several ideologues and conspiracy theorists, far-right politicians and coronavirus denial groups, according to the Dutch portal Dutch News.

The Dutch authorities have rarely prohibited entry to the country, although in 2017 they decreed this measure against the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, for fear that his presence would cause tensions in the Turkish community in the Netherlands.
