The rain ended up dispersing the sit-in that began at 10:30 am in the Plazoleta de Los Músicos in the north of Barranquilla.
Jenifer Tovar, coordinator of the concentration, recognized that the rain ruined the intention to extend the day until past noon. However, Tovar assured, the objective of making clear the points they have against the tax reform proposed by the government of Gustavo Petro was fulfilled.
“We do not need tax reform, with the assets seized from drug traffickers, the money that is needed can be obtained. What must be done here is to reduce public spending, which is overflowing,” said Tovar, who stated that they would present a counterproposal.
For next October 29 at 10 am they will gather again at the corner of Calle 74 and Carrera 44, north of Barranquilla, to march to the Plaza de La Paz, rejecting the tax reform.
