The 85th Sectoral Conference on Employment and Labour Relations resolved this Thursday the territorial distribution of a total of 771,588,309 euros in aid for active employment policies, which are added to the 1,800,372,721 euros already distributed at the previous Sectoral Conference on 4 April.
The meeting, chaired by the Second Vice President of the Government and Minister of Labour and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, had already had the amount approved by the Council of Ministers on 2 July.
Thus, it has been determined that Catalonia will receive 127,218,105 euros; followed by Andalusia, with 122,582,862; Community of Madrid, with 106,084,071; Valencian Community, with 70,505,906; Galicia, with 56,648,936; Canary Islands, with 47,148,786; Castile and Leon, with 46,836,882; Castile-La Mancha, with 38,469,578; Extremadura, with 36,440,880; Aragon, with 26,834,580; Asturias, with 25,458,895; Murcia, with 22,509,069; Balearic Islands, with 19,231,485; Cantabria, with 11,303,559; Navarra, with 10,078,918; and La Rioja, with 4,235,797.
According to the press release, 427,290,075 euros will go to the management by the Autonomous Communities of Services and Programs of Active Employment Policies (Employment and Training), 190,081,890 euros will be for training initiatives in alternating employment, another 132,166,344 euros will go to initiatives of the vocational training system for employment, and 22,050,000 euros for the modernization of public employment services.
Díaz recalled that, within the scope of the Annual Plan for the Promotion of Decent Employment 2024 and with the aim of strengthening active policies for unemployed people over 52 years of age, an amount of 633 million euros has been set aside in the funds distributed at the previous sector conference.
This amount also aims to establish quantitative objectives by the Autonomous Communities, to incorporate the objective of improving employability and to promote the consolidation and professionalisation of employment guidance staff throughout the network of public employment services.
“Thanks to all the autonomous communities for evaluating and sharing what works well and also what deserves to be corrected. We cannot forget that these are important amounts for the lives of many people who need us to allocate the necessary resources to improve their employability,” concluded Díaz.
The minister also highlighted the progress made in co-governance when it comes to distributing funds and thanked the regions for their “constructive spirit” in facing current and future challenges.
