Íñigo Errejón said a few days ago in an interview with this newspaper that “a good part of the fate of the legislature depends on housing”. In other words, on what the administrations do on a matter of the utmost social relevance. If this is the case, the Government can start to tremble, because its Minister of Housing is at a point where it seems that the only thing left for her is to ask in the corners to see if the owners of rental flats are encouraged to offer discounts.
This is not the first time that Isabel Rodríguez has made statements that have alarmed government supporters who believe that without more effective regulation it will take many years before the problem is resolved. That is, if it is possible, because the consideration of housing as an investment asset – as speculation, as the government’s partners would say – has become an unquestionable fact in the market.
