Yesterday, the Senate began the discussion and voting on the judicial reform proposed by President López Obrador. After a long day, marked by disputes and demonstrations, it was approved with 86 votes in favor, 41 against and zero abstentions.

The appreciation of the peso was also related to the weakness of the dollar, which lost 0.11% according to the weighted index, after general inflation in the United States in August slowed to 2.53% annually, decreasing for the fifth consecutive month and reaching its lowest level since February 2021, said Banco Base.

“Lower inflation increases the likelihood that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates on September 18. It also opens the door for the Fed to be aggressive with interest rate cuts,” he said.

Towards the overnightwe would expect the peso to fluctuate in a range between $19.73 and $19.90, considering the current trend and awaiting the economic figures in the US tomorrow (PPI and unemployment claims).
