At an annual rate, the growth of the Mexican economy was 4.3%, which is above market estimates.
A Reuters survey previously indicated that the median of the forecasts of 10 analysts projected a quarterly expansion of 0.6% for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), compared to the real 1% published by the Inegi.
The growth was driven by a quarterly increase of 1.8% in primary activities, 0.9% in secondary activities and 1.2% in tertiary activities. The annual rate increase in these sectors was 3.5%, 4% and 4.3%, respectively.
