The device, which has already been claimed and returned to its owners, thus poses in its own unpacking, revealing a design with a curvy and not very bulky appearance. You can also see in some detail the controls that accompany it. The set has stickers that reveal it as a piece of equipment for internal use, but judging by the packaging and the finishes, for practical purposes we could consider it a definitive unit.
Unfortunately, the path of the viewfinder carried out by Cardenas is limited to the exterior, apparently very similar to that of Project Cambria. However, it is impossible to know if it is the same device or a derivative of Meta’s upcoming strictly professional viewer, which has been described as a productivity tool designed to replace the laptop in certain environments.
Information about Meta Quest Pro is currently limited, if not exiguous. Back in May, Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that Project Cambria will be a high-quality mixed reality viewer with image transfer from the outside using high-resolution color sensors, so that it will be possible to observe the outside with good image quality. (something that is easier said than done, especially in a consumer product).
Other confirmed features of Cambria are the use of eye tracking technology, giving rise to more immersive experiences and more optimized graphics thanks to foveated rendering, as well as some kind of facial monitoring that will allow us to export our expressions in real time (smiles, pouts, etc. .) to the virtual world to create more interactive avatars.
Meta will hold its next big event on October 11. Quest Pro is expected to be revealed then in great detail. We should also see a PVP that is anticipated to be higher than current Quest scopes. For reference, the Meta Quest 2 viewer went up in price a couple of months ago and is currently on sale with Beat Saber for €449.
