The mayor of Ciudad Real confirms that there will be an Equality Department despite the discrepancies with Vox

The mayor of Ciudad Real, Francisco Cañizares (PP), has assured that the new government team, which includes Vox, from the capital will maintain the Department of Equality. Although both parties initially did not specify the maintenance of this municipal portfolio, the PP backtracked in this regard and rectified it, confirming today that this department will exist.

To questions from the media during the inauguration of the I Meeting of the ‘Talents’ Program, organized by Inserta Empleo in Ciudad Real, Cañizares has indicated that the agreement reached between PP and Vox “is what it is”, for which the Department of Equality will remain in the structure of the new government team. Of course, he has indicated that, in any case, the council will be called “Equality” and not “Gender Equality”.

On the names and positions of the new councilors of the Ciudad Real City Council government team, the mayor has advanced that this Tuesday it will be announced after the signing of the decree for the distribution of councilors.

Also asked about other councils in question by Vox, such as the Department of Sustainability, Cañizares wanted to clarify that it will also be maintained. “The councils that provide services to the city will remain as normal,” he concluded.
