The majority of the employed population in Colombia has only a baccalaureate

The National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane) presented the report on the labor market in Colombia for September 2022, which showed that the unemployment rate in the national total was 10.7%.

The figures represent good news, because the country already has more than 22 million people working, as indicated by the item of the employed population.

In her presentation, the director of Dane, Beatriz Piedad Urdinola Contreras, also showed the variation of the employed population in Colombia, according to educational level.

It shows that the majority of the employed population only has a high school diploma, while the lowest contribution in percentage points occurs in technological education.

According to the statistical authority, the employed population in September 2022 was 22,389,000 and, of it, 7,416,000 have basic secondary education (high school).

For your part, 4,347,000 have basic primary education; 1,828,000, professional technique; 2,814,000, none; 1,087,000, postgraduate; 1,339,000, secondary education; 940,000, technological; and 2,610,000 university students.

The report also shows that, during September, the lowest contribution in percentage points to the national total occurred in university students, with barely 0.3%, that is, it was the least employed population by educational level.

At the other extreme is the secondary school population, with a contribution of 2.1 percentage points.
