The Lebanese television channel Al Mayadeen denounces an Israeli attack on its office in Beirut

MADRID 24 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Lebanese television channel Al Mayadeen denounced this Wednesday an Israeli attack against its office in the capital of Lebanon, Beirut, but, although it stated that it had been evacuated before the attack, it stressed that the bombing was carried out without no prior notice.

“In light of what happened, Al Mayadeen holds the occupation responsible for the attack on the office of a well-known media outlet,” he said. For his part, the Lebanese Minister of Information, Ziad Makari, in statements to the pro-Iranian television channel, confirmed that the authorities “will take measures” and indicated that the attack will not affect the channel.

During the night, nearly twenty Israeli attacks were recorded against several areas of the southern suburbs of Beirut, a stronghold of the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah. As a result of the attacks in the Jnah area, at least one death and five injuries have been reported, as reported by the Al Manar television network, linked to the group.

The Israeli Army unleashed a new invasion of Lebanon on October 1 after several weeks of intense bombing and attacks against the country, including the coordinated explosion of thousands of communication devices, after more than eleven months of fighting with Hezbollah.

The resurgence in hostilities is part of the clashes for nearly a year, after Hezbollah attacked Israeli territory a day after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions. , which led Israel to unleash a bloody offensive against the Gaza Strip. Since then, Lebanese authorities have recorded more than 2,500 deaths and 12,000 injuries.
