The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported this Saturday that around twenty people have died and 14 have been injured in a series of Israeli attacks carried out last night in the province of Baalbek-Hermel, in the south of the country.
The governorate and its capital, Baalbek, are one of Israel’s major objectives within its renewed military campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon, marked by the invasion of its military forces in the south of the country and bombings against positions of the Shiite party’s militia. According to the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health, the attacks have been spread across five districts in the province.
Six out of ten residents (approximately 60,000 people) of the ancient city of Baalbek, in eastern Lebanon, have left the town since the beginning of the Israeli invasion of the country, according to local officials who have warned that the almost 40,000 Residents who have remained in the area have no way of accessing humanitarian aid.
