Oct. 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Lebanese Armed Forces have assured that Israeli Army troops have crossed the so-called ‘Blue Line’, the border that ‘de facto’ separates the two neighboring countries, and have entered Lebanese territory, shortly after the Shiite group Hezbollah reported direct combat with members of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
According to the Lebanese authorities, Israeli troops have gone “about 400 meters” into two points of the line, in Jerbet Yarun and in Odaisé, reports the newspaper ‘L’Orient Le Jour’. In both cases it coincides with the areas where Hezbollah had previously reported direct contacts, although the Israeli side has not provided details in this regard.
Since Israel confirmed the beginning of its invasion, the Lebanese Armed Forces had not reported so clearly of possible crossings on a border that is theoretically also monitored by a UN mission (UNIFIL) that has more than 600 Spanish troops. .
