The last API available for games has received an update what includes two exciting new features that will further speed up processing in games. These two new features of DirectX 12 are now available at latest preview of Agility SDK 1.710.0. These new features are GPU Upload Heaps and Non-Normalized sampling which can now be used in this latest development kit and whose compatibility will also be added to the drivers of the big 3 GPU manufacturers.
In this way and in conjunction with the Resizable BAR technologynow the CPU and GPU can access memory simultaneously, avoiding having to replicate the data when the GPU requires information. This translates into a lower latency and resource usage, both for the graphics and for the CPU. With this technology it will be possible to offer better graphics in games with a lower consumption of resourceswhich are increasingly demanding in the graphic section and that with technologies like this will allow you to evolve without a hardware barrier that prevents you from generating better results.
This faster memory access is also possible thanks to the type of memory included in graphics cards which is usually much faster than RAMthese are GDDR6 or GDDR6X, and that will offer additional advantages when it comes to managing the data shared between the CPU and the GPU.

I am a Computer Engineer and my specialty is automation and robotics. My passion for hardware began at the age of 14 when I gutted my first computer: a 386 DX 40 with 4MB of RAM and a 210MB hard drive. I continue to give free rein to my passion in the technical articles that I write at Geeknetic. I spend most of my free time playing video games, contemporary and retro, on the 20+ consoles I own, in addition to the PC.
