The King of Morocco, Mohamed VI, conveyed his condolences this Wednesday to the Kings of Spain, Felipe VI and Letizia, as well as to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, for the floods of the DANA, which according to the provisional balance, has left 95 dead, the majority in the Valencian Community, although fatalities have also been recorded in Castilla-La Mancha and another in Andalusia.
“I have received with great sadness the tragic news of the floods that have hit the region of Valencia, which have caused enormous human and material losses. Given the horror of these painful events, I would like to express my most sincere condolences and my deep feeling of sympathy and solidarity with you, the families of the victims and all the friendly Spanish people,” read the respective letters sent to Zarzuela and Moncloa.
The Moroccan monarch, in his messages, has expressed to both his counterpart and Sánchez his “highest expressions of sympathy and solidarity”, and his “deepest affection and appreciation”, as reported by the MAP news agency.
The DANA, which is mainly affecting the east of the country, has so far left a provisional balance of 95 dead, 92 in the Valencian Community, two in Castilla-La Mancha and another in Andalusia. These data place this natural disaster as one of the most serious in the last 75 years, even ahead of the Biescas (Huesca) flood in 1996 with 87 deaths and the Turia flood in 1957, in which 80 lost their lives. and 100 people.
