The King of Morocco, Mohamed VI, has congratulated Felipe VI on his birthday, recalling the friendship that unites both royal houses and them personally and advocating intensifying the cooperation of “two friendly peoples” such as the Moroccan and the Spanish.
The Alaouite monarch has wished “happiness” and a “long life” to the King of Spain, who turns 55 this Monday, with a message in which he has shown his “pride” for “the solid ties of friendship” that bind them to personal title and also between their respective families, according to the MAP agency. His parents, Juan Carlos I and Hasán II, maintained a close relationship for years.
Mohamed VI has underlined his “firm determination” to work together with Felipe VI to “strengthen” relations and “raise bilateral cooperation to the level of the aspirations of two friendly peoples”, on the eve of the start of the High Level Meeting that The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will lead on the Spanish side.
Felipe VI referred to said meeting during the recent reception to the diplomatic corps, where he alluded to a “new stage” in the relationship with Morocco. “This meeting, which had not taken place since 2015, is part of the road map agreed in April of last year and will allow us to deepen our extensive bilateral relations to work together on more solid foundations,” he stressed.
