The King of Bahrain offers himself as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine

The King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa, has shown this Friday his willingness to mediate between the Russian and Ukrainian authorities in order to reach a peace agreement in the war in Eastern Europe, already immersed in its ninth month.

Bahrain has therefore offered to “play any role in the field of mediation between the two parties”, sources from the Bahraini Embassy in Moscow have confirmed to the Russian news agency TASS.

“Bahrain also calls on the great powers to reconsider and renew their commitment to maintaining international peace and security, avoiding escalation and confrontation,” they have transferred from the Embassy.

Likewise, from Manama they have asked that “global efforts be reoriented” in order to counteract the “waves of extremist ideology”, for which they have asked to deepen international collaboration.
