The political fray around the reduction of sentences and the release of sex offenders after the entry into force of the ‘only yes is yes’ law continues. The debate has moved to Congress, where this week the proposals that the parties have presented to avoid lower sentences in the future are being debated (the reviews cannot be stopped, since the reform that is finally approved cannot be applied retroactively for not be a more favorable penal law). The matter continues to stress the seams of the coalition, with the positions entrenched in the formula used to increase the sentences in cases of violence. And everything indicates that the PSOE will be able to carry out its counter-reform in plenary session on Thursday with the votes of the PP after agreeing on various “technical amendments”.
