The judge investigating Errejón for sexual assault suspends the statements at the request of the complainant

Elisa Mouliaá's defense coordinates the complaint of several women against Errejón

The court investigating Íñigo Errejón for the sexual assault complaint filed by Elisa Mouliaá has decided, at the request of the complainant herself for reasons of her lawyer’s health, to suspend all deadlines and proceedings in the case. This includes the suspension of the statements of both Mouliaá and Errejón scheduled for this Tuesday, November 12 in the Plaza de Castilla in Madrid. Mouliaá’s legal representation has already asked to delay her statement as she is collecting testimonies from more women who would like to denounce the former Sumar deputy.

The actress filed a complaint against the former politician, reporting that in September 2021 she was the victim of a sexual assault at a party where they met. According to this complaint, Errejón closed the door of the room where they were and then subjected her to some touching that, as he explains, never had her consent. The Police sent the complaint directly to the Madrid courts and the investigator, after verifying that Íñigo Errejón is no longer a deputy, opened a case against him.

The judge’s first action was to call the two to testify, but those appearances have not yet occurred. Mouliaá, through his lawyer, requested to suspend his statement and it was delayed until November 12, the date on which Errejón also had to declare himself under investigation. After the request of Mouliaá’s lawyer, Court 47 of the capital “has agreed to the suspension of the deadlines and procedural acts,” according to the Superior Court of Madrid in a statement.

Íñigo Errejón left his positions of political responsibility as deputy of Sumar and parliamentary spokesperson for the party when journalist Cristina Fallarás published the testimony of a woman who claimed to have been the victim of sexist attitudes on the part of a politician. Before his party, Errejón acknowledged the facts of which he was accused and left his deputy record.

Legal sources explain to elDiario.es that the case is on hold until the lawyer defending Mouliaá receives a medical discharge. At the moment the only procedure that had been launched was the declaration of both, scheduled for Tuesday, November 12 and which are now awaiting a new announcement.
