The judge investigating Begoña Gómez, the wife of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has asked the Complutense University to provide the founding agreements of all the extraordinary chairs created as well as the CVs of all their respective directors and co-directors.
In a ruling, reported by Europa Press, the magistrate Juan Carlos Peinado also addresses the Fundación Deporte Joven “so that the contracts made” with the company of the businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés Innova Next are provided. In addition, the instructor asks the Instituto de Empresa to provide the employment contract made between the IE África Center and Begoña Gómez.
The magistrate ordered this series of proceedings last Tuesday, the same day he went to the Moncloa Palace to take a statement as a witness from the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez. At that time, the head of the Executive refused to testify against his wife, a prerogative provided for by law.
Judge Peinado also issued a ruling on Tuesday, to which this news agency has had access, in which he rejects Gómez’s appeal against the subpoena of Leticia Lauffer, the director of Wakalua, a subsidiary of Globalia, with whom Sánchez’s wife may have had a relationship, according to the accusations, given that the IE Africa Center was sponsored by this company.
It should be noted that the magistrate has called Lauffer to testify as a witness on 26 August. That same day the judge will also hear the CEO of Barrabés, Luis Miguel Ciprés.
The magistrate is continuing with the investigation of this case in which he is investigating Begoña Gómez for alleged crimes of influence peddling and corruption in business. This Thursday, the judge took a statement from Barrabés, who confirmed having met with Sánchez in Moncloa to discuss innovation issues, assuring that he has also held such meetings with other political parties and heads of institutions.
