At least one man has died and three others have been injured in the early hours of this Sunday, after the Israeli Army opened fire on a group of Palestinians in the city of Nablus.
“Israel Defense Forces who were on an activity tonight near the city of Nablus in the Shomron regional division area identified armed men traveling in a car and driving a motorcycle,” the Army said. on his Twitter account. “IDF soldiers fired on the militants,” they added.
Security sources have confirmed the death of a young man, Saed Al-Koni, in his 20s, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
In addition, at least three civilians were reportedly injured by bullets and have been transferred to nearby health centers to receive medical treatment.
According to the Ynet news portal, the victims were armed men who are part of a Palestinian group calling itself “Lion’s Den”, based in the city of Nablus in recent months. Some of these members were previously affiliated with the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
The Israeli Army is on high alert in the West Bank due to the increase in attacks before the upcoming Jewish holidays, when the Government will close the crossings to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip for Palestinians.
