The Israeli Army announced this Thursday the death of a commander of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), whom it has identified as responsible for launching numerous rockets into Israeli territory, during fighting in a tunnel in the north of the Gaza Strip. .
“Fighters from the combat teams of the 98th Division and the special forces of the Air Force and the Yalam unit have killed terrorist Hasin Fiach, commander of the Beit Hanun battalion of the Hamas terrorist organization, in an underground space,” they published the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on their X social network account.
The IDF has claimed that he is responsible for launching “many anti-tank missiles” and “many rockets” against Israel, especially “towards the settlements in the north” of the Strip. Hamas, for its part, has not commented on the matter.
“The elimination of Fiach is part of the 98th Division’s fighting effort on the surface and underground to find and destroy the tunnel route and eliminate the terrorists hiding within them,” the IDF added.
