The Israeli Army detains the alleged perpetrator of a shooting in East Jerusalem in Nablus

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed the arrest on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday of the alleged perpetrator of a shooting this Tuesday in East Jerusalem, which left two injured, aged 48 and 50.

The suspect would be a minor and a resident of the village of Askar, in Nablus, and is already in the custody of the Israeli Intelligence Services, although according to an IDF statement, “the terrorist was linked to the incident from the beginning Of the investigation”.

According to the reconstruction of the Police, the men were shot at in their vehicle when they were leaving the Tomb of Simeon the Just, after which the suspect managed to flee and his whereabouts were unknown until now.

In addition, the Army has reported another operation that has resulted in the arrest of three people in the Jenin refugee camp, suspected of terrorism for preparing explosives, shooting and organizing terrorist attacks, as detailed by the agents.

During the detention there were reportedly clashes between the soldiers, who have not reported casualties, and the Palestinians, some of whom were reportedly injured, as well as disturbances in the refugee camp.

For its part, the Palestinian news agency Wafa has denounced that “‘undercover’ special forces assaulted the Jenin camp,” and reported that among the injured would be a 68-year-old woman and a health worker.

They have also confirmed clashes between people from the camp and the Israeli soldiers, alleging that the latter were deployed on the roofs of the houses and also shot at civilians, while entering a house to arrest its occupants.
