MADRID Nov. 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Members of the Israeli Armed Forces have destroyed an underground munitions factory near the town of Zeitun, in the center of the Gaza Strip.

“As part of the 252nd Division’s operations in the center of the Gaza Strip, soldiers from the 5th Brigade have located an underground tunnel that housed a Hamas munitions factory located in the heart of a civilian population near the Zeitun neighborhood,” the Israeli Army explained in a statement.

There were lathes and hundreds of parts for the manufacture of rockets, howitzers and grenades, as well as diving equipment “for the sea invasion of Hamas terrorists into Israeli territory.”

In these underground facilities there were also rooms to house people for a long period of time, an oven, a kitchen, food, beds and offices “used by terrorists during the war.”

The engineering corps has mapped the complex and destroyed it to “reduce their ability to manufacture weapons and prevent a new attempt by Hamas to rearm.”

The Israeli Army has launched an offensive against the Gaza Strip in retaliation for the attack on October 7, 2023, when Palestinian militants killed 1,200 people after breaking into Israeli territory from Gaza. Since then, more than 43,300 people have died in the Palestinian enclave.
