MADRID 18 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Army said this Friday that it had killed Mohamad Hussein Ramal, a commander of the Lebanese party-militia Hezbollah, in a bombardment against the city of Taybeh, in southern Lebanon, as clashes between the group and the Israeli military.

Israeli forces have located and destroyed several rocket launch systems supposedly prepared to attack areas in the north of the country, as well as several warehouses with weapons inside.

Likewise, Israeli Air Force planes have attacked an alleged “terrorist cell” that was preparing to fire anti-tank missiles against troops operating in southern Lebanon since the ground incursion began on October 1, according to a statement.

The Israeli Army began the invasion after days of intense bombing and attacks against the country, including the coordinated explosion of thousands of communication devices belonging to members of the Shiite group after more than eleven months of fighting.

The resurgence in hostilities is part of the clashes for nearly a year, after Hezbollah attacked Israeli territory a day after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions. , which led Israel to unleash a bloody offensive against the Gaza Strip that has left more than 42,400 dead in the Palestinian enclave.
