The Iranian foreign minister meets with the leader of Hezbollah to address the regional situation

The leader of the Lebanese Shiite party-militia, Hasan Nasrallah, met this Friday in Lebanon with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hosein Amirabdolahian, who began an official visit to the country on Wednesday to address the situation in the region.

According to information collected by the Lebanese television channel Al Manar, linked to the group, he indicated that the regional situation was discussed during the meeting, including the agreement between Riyadh and Tehran to normalize their relations and the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

At the moment, no further details have been disclosed about the meeting, in which the Iranian ambassador in Beirut, Mojtaba Amani, was present. The Iranian media have so far limited themselves to reporting that it has taken place.

Amirabdolahian arrived in Lebanon on Wednesday and met with Acting Prime Minister Nayib Mikati and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Thursday. Iran is a major ally of Hezbollah, which controls various areas in the east and south of the country.
