BRUSSELS, 26 Jan. () –

The Donor Coordination Platform for Ukraine’s Repair, Recovery and Reconstruction Process took its first steps on Thursday with a meeting that kicks off the broader process to secure long-term funding.

Representatives of Ukraine, the European Union and the G7 countries, as well as international financial institutions such as the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, the International Monetary Fund or the European Bank for European Development, have given the starting signal through a video conference.

The forum will allow for close coordination between international donors and international financial organizations and will ensure that support is provided in a coherent, transparent and accountable manner.

The ultimate goal is to ensure better coordination between all key players by providing short-term financial support but also long-term assistance for the reconstruction phase. This group follows the work carried out at the donor conferences held in Lugano, Berlin and Paris in recent weeks.
