We’ve been hearing a lot of rumors about processors lately. Intel Meteor Lake for desktops, they say that they will not be launched in favor of some Raptor Lake Refresh. But it does seem that Intel will launch this new generation for laptops, it has also confirmed that these new Intel Meteor Lake will come with a new L4 cache called Adamantine (or ADM). This new L4 cache has been filed by Intel in a patent some time ago.
next to a new design of this generation based on chipletIntel has implemented this L4 cache memory, which will have access to each of the chips included in this Soc. This is thanks to the fact that the cache will be part of the base and that it will also offer much longer access time than DRAM or the L3 cache that is usually built into the CPU. This will allow greater security on the CPU and also the startup optimizationsince it would have a larger memory for the restart.
It is said that this Adamantine cache, can be even Gigabytes, but tests are currently running with smaller sizes from 128 MB to 512 MB. The Intel Meteor Lake will be available for the second half of this 2023if everything continues its course and no delays are announced.
