The Ibex 35 closed Monday’s session at 11,797.9 points, in a day in which until shortly after mid-session it remained unchanged from Friday’s close.
In the Spanish corporate arena, the board of directors of Grifols has agreed that Thomas Glanzmann will become non-executive chairman to focus solely on the responsibilities of that body, after having completed in a “satisfactory” manner the transition period of Nacho Abia as CEO. In this way, he advances a transition that the company had planned to carry out in 2025.
Neinor Homes, for its part, has signed an agreement with Merak IMS, a company controlled by Bain Capital funds, to acquire 10% of the share capital of Promociones Habitat for an approximate amount of 31 million euros.
In addition, Grenergy posted a net profit of €500,000 in the first half of this year, down 89% from the €4 million profit recorded in the same period in 2023.
In this way, Cellnex has been the value that has risen the most (+1.73%), above Enagás (+1.70%), Ferrovial (+1.58%), Telefónica (+1.55%) , Redeia (+1.48%), Naturgy (+1.41%) and Endesa (+1.39%).
At the other end of the spectrum, the stocks that have fallen the most are Grifols (-2.99%), Puig Brands (-1.96%), Fluidra (-1.71%), Banco Santander (-1.54%), Colonial (-1.50%) and CaixaBank (-1.09%).
The positive performance of the Ibex has been shared by the main European stock markets. London has risen by 0.36%; Paris, by 0.10%; and Frankfurt, by 0.68%. Milan, on the other hand, has dropped by 0.24%.
At the close of the European session, a barrel of Brent crude oil was trading at $73.69, down 1.06%, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was trading at $70.12, down 1.30%.
In the debt market, the yield on the 10-year Spanish bond stood at 2.957%, up from 2.997% on Friday. The risk premium thus rose seven-tenths of a point to 79.6 basis points.
At the close of the European trading session, the euro exchange rate was trading at a rate of 0.31% lower than the dollar, trading at 1.1128 greenbacks for each unit of the common currency.
