The Ibex rises 0.11% mid-session and clings to 12,100 points

MADRID Dec. 6 () –

The Ibex 35 clung to the level of 12,100 points reached this Thursday in the mid-session this Friday, after once again being on positive ground after an opening with doubts and slightly downwards.

Specifically, the Madrid selective registered a rise of 0.11% at 12:21 p.m., to stand at 12,132 integers, in a day on the Madrid trading floor marked by the Constitution holiday.

Among the increases in the Ibex 35, Acciona Energía (+3.43%), Solaria (+1.99%), Acciona (+1.83%), Acerinox (+1.56%), Telefónica (+1, 38%), Colonial (+1.24%) and Naturgy (+1.1%).

Regarding the banking sector, stocks such as CaixaBank (+0.58%), Bankinter (+0.37%), Santander (+0.09) and Banco Sabadell (+0.10) were also standing out in positive territory. %).

Meanwhile, leading the losses was Puig, with a decrease of 4.93% weighed down by the withdrawal of some batches of a ‘Charlotte Tilbury’ brand product due to quality problems, followed by Grifols (-0.6%) and Redeia (-0.53%).

On a festive day in Spain, investors face a session in which the publication of new employment data in the United States and in the Old Continent the GDP of the euro zone and the EU stands out, which confirmed a growth of 0.4 % in the third quarter.

The Spanish selective has just reached the level of 12,000 points this Thursday, a level unprecedented since January 2010, after registering a rise of 1.57%, with banking securities pulling it up.

With that new annual maximum, after closing this Thursday at 12,118.7 integers, it accumulated a revaluation of almost 20% so far in 2024, and seemed not to be affected by the motion of censure that was carried out yesterday against the prime minister of France, Michel Barnier, who has remained in office for only three months.

In the rest of the large European markets, indecision on the part of investors was somewhat more prevalent. Thus, while the German Dax rose 0.26% at mid-session, the FTSE 100 in London registered slight falls (-0.04%).

On the other hand, at mid-session, the price of a barrel of Brent quality oil, a reference for the Old Continent, fell 0.87%, to 71.46 dollars, while the American Texas crude oil stood at 67.69 dollars, 0.89% less.

In the currency market, the price of the euro against the dollar remained stable at 1.058 ‘greenbacks’, while in the debt market the interest required on the 10-year Spanish bond rose to 2.764%.
